What is a propeller shaft?

Main components of propeller shaft: U-joint, pipe, center bearing, midship shaft, end yoke, sliding yoke and tube yoke, flange.
The engine and transmission units are attached to the frame of the vehicle with the help of flexible mountings or bearings. The rear axle is then connected to the frame with the differential and the wheels via suspension springs.
If we look at the arrangement above, the transmission output and input shafts in the rear axle housing are on different planes. This forces the propeller shaft connecting the two shafts to remain tilted.
In addition, when the rear wheels encounter unevenness in the road surface, the rear axle moves up and down, compressing and expanding in the suspension springs. As a result, the angle between the transmission output shaft and the propeller shaft changes.
In addition, the length occupied by the propeller shaft changes. This change occurs due to the rotation of the propeller shaft and the rear shaft in an arc along the point of their axis of rotation.
